Terms & Conditions
All courses are booked for the specified dates and are non-transferable. No course booking is confirmed before payment has been cleared through Sail and Power SA bank account.
The minimum number of students for classes is 2 on courses loading of 6 persons or less. Courses loaded at 12 require minimum of 4 students. Where low numbers occur Sail and Power SA will notify the student booked on the class and arrange another day.
The student may change or cancel the booking at any time up to 28 days prior to the course start date by calling Sail and Power SA to arrange a different date. The students Sail and Power SA account will then be credited with the amount due to them minus the cost of new course. Any booking less than 28 days can only be changed if a suitable replacement is found to fill the course.
Refunds to the full value of the money paid may be refunded up to 28 days prior to the course less and incurred costs. No refunds for any reason less than 28 days prior to the course.
Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of payment. Prior to 28 days a 20% deposit or full payment is required. For courses starting within 28 days, the full course cost must be paid to secure your place on the course.
Sail and Power SA will provide tuition and all the equipment required for the student to undertake the course.
Accommodation is not available on any of the courses unless specifically detailed in the course notes.
Course times are as detailed. Late arrivals may not be able to join the course. No refunds unless proof of illness or injury is provided. Traffic delays are not accepted for late arrival.
Personal equipment, Buoyancy aids with a minimum of 70 Newton’s are provided for all courses with safety boat support. Life Jackets are provided for powerboat courses. Wetsuits and spray tops are available for student use on PWC courses. Enclosed shoes must be worn at all times on all courses i.e. old trainers or wetsuit boots. We do not provide any form of shoes. Flip flops are not suitable.
The student must accept that all courses are weather dependent and that this may adversely affect your course. If in the judgement of Sail and Power SA a course is unable to start due to the weather conditions, or because safety could be compromised for any reason, students will be offered a credit in respect of any days owed to them by Sail and Power SA.
It is then the responsibility of the student to contact Sail and Power SA within 3 months to re-arrange their booking. No refunds will be paid. In the event of a course that has started being abandoned through changing weather conditions, students will be offered where possible the following:
The balance of the course remaining on the next available course with a maximum of 3 months from the cancelled course date. Students will be notified as soon as possible when in-fill places become available.
All decisions regarding the running or cancellation of any course are at the absolute discretion Sail and Power SA whose decision shall be final.
Students are required to notify Sail and Power SA on the booking form at the time of booking the course of any medical condition suffered by them that may be relevant to the activity to be undertaken on the course. All information given will be treated with strict confidentiality. We sometimes video or photograph courses for use on our publicity pages, ie

Students, parents, and guardians must be aware that watersports and all other activities offered by Sail and Power SA are potentially dangerous and are undertaken entirely at the student’s own risk. By ticking the box on the booking page, the student confirms that he/she has read and understood these booking conditions and accepts the same.
Personal Information
Statement
We need to store information about you for the processing and creating of certificates and replacements should yours be lost. This is done by your booking form and electronic systems. We do not pass any information to a third party not connected to your course/s
Your medical and next of kin emergency contact information is only stored on your paper booking form. This form will be kept safe and only used in an emergency.
Your personal data will be passed onto our partners who require your information for courses and certificates. Only the minimum required will be provided. The current list of outside providers are;
The Royal Yachting Association, UK information used for online interactive courses and certificates. RYA practical courses require processing and registration with the RYA.
Nav at Home Australia, provide RYA Day skipper theory and RYA Coastal Yachtmaster theory online courses and their registration process requires your name and email address.
SAMSA, provide skipper and SRC radio course applications and issue of certificates.
Marketing
We do sometime send out updates and course specials via our web site, google adds, Facebook and mail chip. If you do not wish to receive these updates you can contact us to optout at any time.
Record keeping
We keep your information in printed and data formats, should you require a new certificate or upgrade this information can be used to confirm your status. Should you ask us to remove all your data from our files we will endeavour to do so. Note we can not guarantee that we can issue a replacement certificate or confirm your status if your information is removed.
