Superyacht Stewardess Positions: A Path to Becoming a Chief Stewardess
To maintain and provide premium, luxurious services on a giant vessel like a superyacht, you require a crew. The crew works in tandem to achieve satisfactory results in their responsibilities. When working in a group, you must establish a hierarchy to maintain order and streamline the workflow.
The stewardess role isn’t an exception to this.
The stewardess is a multi-level role in terms of responsibilities and position. Let us take a quick peek before we move on to salary structures.
The entry-level role will be that of a junior stewardess, also known as the third stewardess (on bigger vessels). Junior stewardesses make up the majority of the stewardess team on a superyacht. They are the field agents who work the magic according to the instructions.
As stewardesses get promoted, they may enter a senior role, typically called senior stewardess, or more commonly known as the second stewardess. You will only find this role on yachts of 80m+ in length.
The ultimate promotion on the stewardess tree is that of a chief stewardess, commonly known as the first stewardess. On smaller yachts, you may directly become a chief stewardess, skipping the second stewardess promotion.
